The Challenge
A rapidly scaling B2B SaaS FinTech platform was experiencing unpredictable monthly recurring revenue (MRR). They struggled with poor visibility into key revenue performance drivers, specifically high levels of involuntary churn (failed payments due to expired cards or insufficient funds) and a slow process for identifying cross-sell/upsell opportunities based on client usage patterns. Their legacy systems couldn’t connect payment data with subscription metrics effectively.
The Solution
We implemented a Revenue Intelligence platform tailored for FinTech, integrating payment data directly with their subscription billing system. The strategy focused on:
- Comprehensive Revenue Dashboard: Providing a single, real-time view of MRR, Churn Rate (broken down into voluntary/involuntary), and Customer Lifetime Value (LTV).
- Involuntary Churn Reduction: Deploying a smart dunning and retry engine that uses machine learning to schedule payment retries at optimal times and automatically update expired card details using network tokenization.
- LTV Maximization: Creating a predictive analytics model to identify customers with high usage of basic features who were most likely to convert to premium tiers, flagging them for the sales team.
